“Heart-warming and beautiful second album from Brighton’s genius post-country band… specialising in beautifully melancholic country that gets through to your inner soul.” – Louder Than War

“These ten melancholy masterpieces have one thing in common: after a single listen, they seem like old acquaintances. Fantastically beautiful.” – Connaisseur Vinylkatalog

“While The Delta Bell consistently conjure up familiar sounds on this record, they do so in a way that’s truly their own… If sophisticated sadness is your thing then this is the record for you!” – Brighton’s Finest

The Delta Bell is the songs of singer, musician and songwriter Kate Gerrard, based in Brighton, UK. Following the success of debut single Wasted in March 2014, her debut album Bow Out Of the Fading Light was released in July 2015 to critical acclaim, including a nomination for Best Female Vocalist by Fatea Magazine.

Since the album’s release, The Delta Bell has become a live band including Andrew Blake (guitars), Beth Chesser (backing vocals/keyboards), James Bandenburg (bass/harmonica), and Bob Baker (drums). In summer 2016 the band recorded a new collection of songs, recording them live over two days in Church Road Studios in Hove. The resulting album, Hold Fast The Fire was released in October 2017 on indie label Random Acts Of Vinyl. The album received a strong critical response, including four stars in Rolling Stone Magazin, and has been described as “Americana via the Velvet Underground”. It is available now on 12″ vinyl and download.

The Delta Bell will be touring in 2018. Contact us for bookings or sign up to our newsletter for announcements and more info.
